v  Past disasters caused by typhoons Ondoy, Perding, etc.

Things happen for a reason. Experiences teach us the true value of life because we can learn many valuable lessons from it that can help us grow and go on to our life. We always ask God, “Why these things happen to us?” Why there are many people who are suffering from things that they should not have?
A typhoon is a violent tropical storm that is commonly experience in tropical countries like Philippines. It is a tropical cyclone in the region of the Pacific Ocean or the China Sea. We have experienced many calamities in the past few years continuing in the present cause by the different typhoon passing to the Philippine area of responsibility wherein NCR or the National Capital Region where Manila and other cities are located is often target of the typhoon including the northern Luzon.
Two weeks ago, Philippines experience heavy and continuous rains brought on by typhoon “Ondoy” internationally called Ketsana. Typhoon Ondoy left our country empty handed, with million damaged properties and infrastructures, thousand Filipinos homeless, more than hundred lives sacrificed and many more people reported missing. This Typhoon Ondoy was horrible enough to frighten the people of the region.
Manila and some provinces in Calabarzon are some of the places damaged by Ondoy. Homes and other infrastructure like building, churches, school and hospitals are soaked by chest high flashfloods. Leaves hundred Filipinos unsheltered and forced to leave their house and proceed to evacuation center in their place. With lack of foods and medicines, many children are suffering. Some experience hunger and great depression not only physically but also mentally. A lot of people died and some are still missing. Reports say that many missing people tried to escape the flooded area but were trapped in the middle of the sea like flood. Typhoon Ondoy didn’t choose its victims even the most famous stars, politicians, and other rich personalities are also affected. There were still many people stranded in some restricted area. They spent their whole day in their roof, wishing miracles for the flood to stop and our government to help them. Many areas are not rescued because of the high flashfloods which lead them to hunger and more worst, death.
Hearing those news and stories makes me think and wonder… Why do we experience all of this? Does the government are not prepared for this? How can we solve all of this? After this, now how can we make a new start? Can we? How? When?
Right now, TV stations and other social groups were keep on helping our countrymen, by giving them relief goods and helping them evacuate in some safe places, but it is enough? After two or more weeks, will they still continue helping them? Few more weeks, Ondoy will be no longer the talk of the town, and soon be forgotten and how about those affected Filipinos? They will still be left empty handed, hungry, homeless.
Actually if we think about it, those affected Filipinos needed those help even before Ondoy came. Before Ondoy, Filipinos are hungry and homeless. They choose to live near at the creek just to have a home. And after the typhoon, the place that they called ‘home’ is wash out by the floods, and leaves them again, homeless.
But if we look to the brighter side, after all the news and terrible stories there are still some miracles happen. Like many hopeless people being rescued and many children given foods and shelter. And giving recognition for those Filipinos and other country that helps those unfortunate one is just one thing we can do. Risking their lives is a heroic thing; rescuer, army and even those simple Filipinos who help their countrymen should be given a great respect.
We should still thank God for everything. Typhoon Ondoy is just only one of the lessons he will give to us. This incident will wake us up, and give us signal that we should stop polluting our country. Cutting mountain trees and dumping our trash everywhere will make just things worst. Instead, planting trees and recycling waste is the greatest thing we can do. Keeping our own place clean and green will soon be a big help for everybody. A piece of trash per person is enough and a tree per person is more than enough. We don’t need to experience another typhoon for us to be awakened, we should act NOW!!

DAVID GUETTA LYRICS

"Titanium"
(feat. Sia)

[Sia:]
You shout it out,
But I can't hear a word you say
I'm talking loud not saying much
I'm criticized but all your bullets ricochet
You shoot me down, but I get up

[Chorus:]
I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium

[Sia:]
Cut me down
But it's you who'll have further to fall
Ghost town, haunted love
Raise your voice, sticks and stones may break my bones
I'm talking loud not saying much

[Chorus:]
I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
I am titanium
I am titanium

[Sia:]
Stone-hard, machine gun
Fired at the ones who run
Stone-hard as bulletproof glass

[Chorus:]
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
I am titanium
